How is Vaser Liposuction done?
VASER liposuction is done in the office under local anesthesia. You are awake during the entire procedure. You will be given a mild sedation. A numbing fluid is infiltrated under the skin in the area of liposuction. Using VASER, the fat is disrupted and is gently suctioned out.
How long is the down time?
You will be draining some of the fluid infused in the area for 12 to 36 hours. You have to wear a compression garment for 3 to 4 weeks for support and better shaping. You may need painkillers for 2-3 days. Most people return to work in 2 to 3 days. You can restart your exercise routine in 2 weeks.
When will I see results?
Some can see results immediately. It depends on the amount of fat taken out and the number of areas treated. You can see your final results in 3-6 months. Skin tightening starts immediately and continues for several months.

What are Liposuction side effects?
Infection and burns at the site of insertion of the Vaser probe are extremely rare complications.
Seromas can occur rarely. If seromas develop, they can be drained in the office, and they resolve uneventfully.

What is the difference between Vaser liposuction and Smartlipo?
Vaser liposuction and Smartlipo are very similar.
The tool used to melt the fat varies. In Vaser liposuction, ultrasound is used to emulsify/melt fat. In Smartlipo, laser is used to melt and vaporize fat. Other than that, the entire procedure is pretty much the same. Vaser lipo is the procedure of choice to melt and suction larger amounts of fat. Smartlipo is ideal for low volume fat melting, like chins and small arms. The skin tightening is the same with both, as both technology can heat the sub-dermis to 40C.
