After our physician, Dr. Welden, assesses your mole, he decides which is the best method to proceed with your mole removal in Cincinnati. We might remove the mole in the following ways:
Shave Excision: Dr. Welden uses a sharp razor tool to remove the unwanted mole from your skin. Sometimes, he may use an electrode, a small electrosurgical tool, to smooth out the edges at the end of treatment. This helps make any trace of the mole removal procedure even less noticeable on your skin.
Hyfrecation: After numbing the treatment area, Dr. Welden uses a hyfrecator, a low-powered electrosurgery tool, to remove the unwanted mole from your skin. The hyfrecator uses electrical energy to kill the cells in the unwanted mole in a process called electrocautery.
Sometimes, the excision site may require sutures after removal. We’ll schedule an appointment to have the sutures removed once your wound has fully healed. We will go over your options for mole removal during your appointment, making sure all of your questions get answers.
